She is in 6th grade, private school in Naples Florida .A student, plays Basketball on the Nike team ..She's played basketball since age 7..had private WNBA tutor in past ..So, her coach for basketball is doing some things on track so she wanted to run for fun...never ran before ..time was amazing, great rhythm, style..😇 Her school has her running today with the Varsity team..😧🤣😳...I'm goober smacked...They said she is 4th in the state for 6th grade ...

(14,208 posts)I grew up with a twin brother and was encouraged to downplay my abilities in order to 'encourage' him. Lots of lost opportunities. Tell her to go with gusto! Also for all of us.

(12,990 posts)Oregon (Track Town USA) scholarship coming! American women have been amazing in track and field for a while now and keep getting better. Men are just not matching their wins at any level up through Olympians and World Championship's. That time for an 11 year old, just wow, with no coaching as a runner. I follow track and field religiously. Have been since Bowermen coached Pre as a Duck, and created Nike.
Sure you do not want to give her name with social media these days, but I will be watching for you (Farpoint) to post her progress. Just wow.

#1. 5.55.06 was Harper...
slowest was #11 @ 8.29.30 freshman runner...
