Dwight Yoakum, House of Blues, New Orleans, A/C Kaput. Tight, cozy venue with a big bar. You could see the sweat flying off those on the stage. Very Good Show. Then a stroll through the Quarter, To Go Cups in our hands. Meandering to Cafe Dumond for Cafe Au Lait and Beignets. Wandering Back to our Hotel on Dauphine about 2 AM, the party continuing all around. Those were our good ole days. Now just a memory. A very good memory.

(43,342 posts)One of us had to navigate. Yes, the Jazz wafting in the air, the occasional flash of breasts, beads being tossed with no apparent destination. Folks from Des Moines and Wichita free at last. I wish I could do it again, happy that I had the opportunity for almost 30 years.
Being so late and tired but that combo got me back to my hotel.

(43,342 posts)Any excuse to spend the night in the quarter. The live show was very entertaining. He was very animated. He could act for sure.
