One time in Hungary, I drove southeast from Budapest to visit a sunflower processing plant.
Pressing for oil, some seeds separated & roasted, the stalks ground into livestock meal, and so on.
As we approached the plant, in every direction as far as I could see, were sunflowers in full bloom.
Never saw that much yellow in my life!

Luckily one park I know has peonies, and NYBG, and BBG have them.

New York (Bronx) Botanical Garden, and the Brooklyn Botanical Garden both have Lotuses! The NYBG has hydrangeas.

They put on quite a show, first blazing yellow then rows of fuzz clinging fancifully to the edges of driveways, their leaves make a tasty salad, and they are the bane of lawn snobs.

They are so cheerful, make a good cut flower and last a long time in a vase.

They're gorgeous little flowers, and their scent is just about my favorite scent on the planet.

Actually these are my wife's favorites.
Clerodendrums are her gateway drug.

I'm an orchid fool.
