A retired policeman posted a Charlie Kirk meme. He plans to sue!

A retired policeman posted a Charlie Kirk meme. He spent a month in jail. The 61-year-old Tennessee man plans to sue after authorities dropped charges over a political Facebook post. Free-speech advocates say it’s a symptom of a wider crackdown.

hell, the Sheriff even admitted, on camera, that he knew there was no threat, but he went ahead and arrested this guy to placate the public.

Talk about sticking your foot in your mouth, the lawsuit practically writes itself.

... but he doesn't actually have any evidence that anyone was concerned. So he doesn't even have that.

it was only after the news station reported on this that the charges were dropped and he was released from jail.
Makes on wonder just how far the prosecutor was willing to take this if not for the news story.

And the judge setting his bail at 2 million dollars was way out of line.

I hope he bankrupts this county, this should be an easy lawsuit, hell, it probably won't even make it to trial, the county and all those involved will probably offer a settlement.

Hopefully, this Sheriff and the Prosecutor face consequences for this illegal arrest and false imprisonment, along with the violations of his 1st, 4th and 8th Amendment rights.
