PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) Oregon's first-ever community college strike entered its second week Monday with staff and some students still holding picket lines outside the Portland Community College (PCC) campus.
Classes have been remote since the strike was announced last week, final grades for the term still have not been posted, and the future of some students remains in limbo as emails go unanswered.
"This term, I signed up for a pre-trade program. So I'm going to do that, but I kind of need a scholarship and I don't know how that is going to go," said Addison Mayer, who was holding the picket line alongside staff outside PCC's Cascade campus on Monday.
Mayer said he applied for the scholarship but has not heard back because of the strike. The program is set to begin next term.
