Trump Admin Accuses Hilton of Refusing Rooms for ICE Agents

President Donald Trump's Department of Homeland Security (DHS) accused Hilton Hotels of refusing rooms to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, describing it as a "coordinated campaign" against DHS law enforcement in Minneapolis.
In a post on X Monday, DHS shared screenshots it said were from Hilton Hotels, in which staff refused to book rooms for federal agents linked with immigration enforcement efforts in the area.
"When officers attempted to book rooms using official government emails and rates, Hilton Hotels maliciously CANCELLED their reservations. This is UNACCEPTABLE. Why is Hilton Hotels siding with murderers and rapists to deliberately undermine and impede DHS law enforcement from their mission to enforce our nations immigration laws?" DHS wrote on its official X account.
Hilton responded to the post, telling Newsweek it was investigating the emails.

I say good for Hilton.

No Room at the Inn (for ICE!) in Minneapolis with The Hilton!
Keep in mind they did this also back in 2020 citing their belief that hotels should be places of hospitality, not detention.

The department expressed outrage in a Monday post on X.
"NO ROOM AT THE INN!" the post exclaimed. "@HiltonHotels has launched a coordinated campaign in Minneapolis to REFUSE service to DHS law enforcement.".....
Hotels generally have the right to refuse service to customers. Emails from DHS confirmed Hilton management's decision.
"After further investigation online, we have found information about immigration work connected with your name and we will be cancelling your upcoming reservation. You should see a proper cancellation email in your inbox shortly from Hilton," one email said.
"[W]e are not allowing any ICE or immigration agents to stay at our property," another email said. "If you are with DHS or immigration, let us know as we will have to cancel your reservation."
"Please pass on this info to your coworkers that we are not allowing any immigration agents to house on our property," the email added.

Note the murdered father was Black. It is not safe for a POC or any immigrant to reside in the same hotel that hosts ICE agents.

(8,582 posts)There are several levels of Hilton Hotels. For example, DoubleTree, Ambassy suite, Hilton Garden Inn , Hampton Inn, are all part of their portfolio. Those hotels are far from luxurious; they are typical run-of-the-mill hotels.

When they don't want to rent a house or apartment to a minority family ... "It's a free country."
When they don't want their kids going to school with black or immigrant children ... "It's a free country."
So now the Hilton Hotels Inc, exercises its right to free enterprise by refusing to do business with Dept. of Homeland Security. "It's a free country."

Hilton moved swiftly to distance itself from the controversy, emphasising that the property in question operates independently.
"This hotel is independently owned and operated, and these actions were not reflective of Hilton values," a company spokesman said.
The hotel giant confirmed it had contacted the accommodation directly following the incident.
"We have been in direct contact with the hotel, and they have apologised for the actions of their team, which was not in keeping with their policies," the spokesman added.
"They have taken immediate action to resolve this matter."
Say I blame them. They dont want those Trump trash goons in their hotels

(1 post)Hilton Hotels said it is investigating an independently owned Minneapolis-area property after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) alleged law enforcement officers were refused service, a dispute that has renewed scrutiny of the companys long-standing opposition to immigration-related activity at its hotels.
"Hilton hotels serve as welcoming places for all. This hotel is independently owned and operated, and the actions referenced are not reflective of Hilton values," the spokesperson said. "We are investigating this matter with this individual hotel, and can confirm that Hilton works with governments, law enforcement and community leaders around the world to ensure our properties are open and inviting to everyone."
