Murphy rips Venezuela operation: 'There are evil, brutal dictators all over the world'

Source: The Hill

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) slammed the recent U.S. operation in Venezuela, stating that “there are evil, brutal dictators all over the world” but “that does not give the American president the right to invade.”

“Listen, there are evil, brutal dictators all over the world. That does not give the American president the right to invade those countries, in large part because we have seen how this script plays out. I watched your interview with Senator [Tom] Cotton [(R-Ark.)]. You asked him what the difference was between Iraq and Venezuela,” Murphy told CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union.”

“He didn’t say the difference was, ‘We aren’t going to invade Venezuela like we invaded Iraq,’ he said that, ‘If we invade Venezuela, which may be part of the president’s plan, it’s going to go really well.’ Over and over again, we have seen these warmongering [neoconservatives], many of which have influence in this White House, cheerlead us into war under the guise of removing a very bad man,” Murphy added.

On Saturday, President Trump announced that the U.S. had gone through with a “large scale strike” on the Venezuelan capital of Caracas. U.S. forces also captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Trump also said that the U.S. would “run” the South American country up until a transition after Maduro’s capture.

Putin is probably going to sacrifice any interest in the Caribbean if it means Trump negotiates on his behalf to keep Ukrainian territory. The same likely goes with China and Taiwan.

It's in Chiner's sphere of influence, and Kim's sent President Narcissist "a beautiful letter". Best defense possible.

Have plans to remove the very bad man in the partially destroyed White House? Would a very bad man be convicted of 34 felonies, be a rapist, dabble in pedophilia, strong arm the countries Supreme Court, tinker with elections? Compare and contrast Meduro to trump. God forbid revisit the comparison in nine months.

4. Haven't heard anyone, including Murphy, talk about imperialism and theft of a sovereign nation's resources,

about past US actions in the western hemisphere to control other nations' economies and politics, about regime change and assassinations, about project 2025 and monroe doctrine, about TSF's other threats around the world pertaining to taking over for economic benefit. About his cozying up to oil interests for a decade for his own benefit, while hobbling solar/wind energy and EV use.

Don't care as much for discussion about the aftermath in terms of governing when we haven't even fully processed and discussed the initial action and reasons why. MSM is focused on the aftermath and dems whining about process rather than the big, dangerous picture here.

If it makes the US money in the short term, is it just fine with congress regardless of effects on other countries and long term chaos?

but since we don't own or control any media, we have to deal with what is selectively presented to us as being discussed.
(oftentimes they will put it out there on social media too)

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says Maduro capture is 'the same Washington playbook' that we're 'sick and tired of'

But the rest are cowards licking their wounds and realizing that THEY "voted for this" (including the once "anti-interventionist" Rand Paul, who suddenly started obfuscating his position).

Like the Dutch in Indonesia, the British in India, we know best, we are taking over.

Locals become servants, wealth of the country is taken over and exported back to the mother country.

Removing Maduro has solved nothing, it just sends that country into more turmoil.

As for "“Listen, there are evil, brutal dictators all over the world."
Yep, you can add America to that list now.
