Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents attempted to access Dodger Stadium on Thursday morning but were denied entry by the team, according to a source familiar with the situation.

Images of government vehicles quickly spread on social media, prompting widespread speculation and criticism from fans, many of whom questioned the agents’ presence at the stadium.

While the stadium grounds are affiliated with the team, the parking areas are owned by former Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The appearance of ICE agents comes as the Dodgers prepare to break their silence on the ongoing federal immigration raids in Los Angeles — operations that have left much of the team’s Latino fan base on edge.

The Dodgers’ initial decision to remain publicly silent has drawn sharp criticism and become a political flashpoint in the city. To date, Enrique “Kiké” Hernández is the only player to speak out about the raids.

The Times was the first to report that the organization plans to announce initiatives aimed at supporting immigrant communities affected by raids that began in early June.............

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Thursday they blocked federal immigration agents from entering its stadium as dozens of anti-ICE protesters gathered outside of the sports venue.

On social media, the Major League Baseball team said that federal agents working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrived at the stadium and "requested permission to access the parking lots."

"They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization," the Dodgers said, adding that their game against the Padres will go on on the stadium as scheduled.

Demonstrators standing outside the stadium's gates were seen holding signs and chanting "ICE out of L.A." and "ICE go home" as several dark SUV vehicles stood on the opposite side of the road. Some of the federal agents appeared to be wearing Homeland Security uniforms.

The federal agents who showed up in those vehicles were turned away from entering the stadium gates, two sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.

Even though the congressman did indeed identify himself, we may have a proper precedent.
First they need to be thrown to the ground for not identifying themselves. Then they need to be held for resisting arrest and not identifying themselves. Their vehicle of course should be searched and impounded. The drugs found in the search need to be added to the charges and any weapons found seized and lawsuits based on the weapon charges need to be filed. If the drug charges end up being unsubstantiated, fine, they still need it held over their heads for a while so they learn a bit of respect for locals. And maybe not make things up.

If no warrants are found then the charge of attempted kidnapping should be added. They can always go for a plea deal if they rat out their superiors and provide evidence of illegal orders. At all times, these charges need to be kept at the state and local level.

This is a democracy while it lasts. The citizens need to demand respect and at time fear from their government. Not the other way around.
