GOP lawmaker fears 'Hakeem Jeffries will be Speaker' if Trump's bill is enacted

Source: Raw Story

One Republican congressman confessed to a Fox News reporter that he's concerned the House GOP budget bill could kill them in the 2026 midterm elections.

Speaking to Fox Business on Thursday, Rep. Mark Alford (R-MO) said that the legislation they're referring to as the "big, beautiful bill," in its current form, will harm GOP members in swing districts.

"The Senate has made some revisions. I think this is gonna end up in conference in some form, whether it's through leadership or a true conference, which we haven't had in a long time," said Alford, according to senior congressional correspondent Chad Pergram.

"I know there's some big concerns with the SALT cap," he explained of the cap on "state and local taxes" in the bill. "Michael Lawler, a good friend of mine — I want to see our colleagues from New York come back. We need to retain the majority in the U.S. House. If we don't do that, on January 3rd of 2027, Hakeem Jeffries will be Speaker of the House, and it will mean impeachment, impeachment, impeachment. We've got to retain the majority."

The whole damn GQP needs to stay in office to stay out of prison.
So we need to know the depth they will go to avoid prison, just like their God Cult Leader. Supported by the supremacy court.
Do not expect anything near fair elections.

My expectations shrink every damn day. Very close to tired of giving a fuck. Every tiny little win is struck down by billionaire courts. Or out right lawlessness.
Wasted 12 years of retirement worrying about what that asshole will do to destroy me.
A cocktail of multiple Diseases wiping out stupid may be our only hope.
When I see Kimmel, or Klepper on the streets asking simple questions any one should know, the stupid is like projectile vomit coming out of their pie hole. I know, a small Percentage of us, but they vote and have control, no, actually Fox and their spawn have control. And cash. And election theft will keep us this way.
The Supremacy Court living the high life, kicking us in the face.
McConnell is responsible for so much of this. And the Murdocks.
To damn dumb to be species. And education is a WOKE concept, getting burned to the ground.
Way too depressing to look ahead trying to see a light, the batteries are dead and the bulb is crushed.

Even if OJC is impeached in the House, he will never be convicted in the Senate, but I can still fantasize this result, eh?

Both houses will go to the Democrats. We need a +4 in the Senate, with 22 Republican seats up for election, and a +6 in the House. I expect we'll get a couple more than needed in the Senate, and at least a dozen more than needed in the House.
Note:there are 3 vacancies in the House right now; all Dems, and I'm not counting them as being held by the Democrats until they actually are.
