This would mark a major escalation

Aaron Parnas 28 minutes ago

We have breaking news this evening out of Washington.

Just minutes ago, President Donald Trump made a shocking statement on Truth Social that could mark a historic and dangerous turning point in the ongoing Middle East crisis. The President posted:

“We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran. Iran had good sky trackers and other defensive equipment, and plenty of it, but it doesn’t compare to American made, conceived, and manufactured ‘stuff.’ Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA.”

This is the clearest and most direct indication yet that the United States is now actively engaged in military operations over Iranian territory.

The Key Word: “We”

President Trump’s use of the word “we” — as Commander-in-Chief — is not a slip of the tongue. It suggests that American military forces are now directly involved in operations over Iran, with U.S. warplanes likely flying missions and asserting air superiority...................

US air assets are not engaged in combat over Iran, and I would vehemently oppose any US air assets being committed to combat ops in Iran, that's just plain stupid.

So far, the Iranian leadership and their proxies have shown a remarkable reluctance in attacking any US assets to try to avoid the full might of the US military, which is a very smart move.

Here's the latest:

President Trump called on Iran to surrender without conditions to bring an end to its dayslong conflict with Israel, saying the U.S. knew the location of the country’s leader but was choosing not to take any action. “He is an easy target, but is safe there—We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.”

Trump made the comments as the U.S. expanded its military footprint in the region where the war between Israel and Iran entered a fifth day. The president left a G-7 summit in Canada early after signing onto a statement calling for peace and stability in the Middle East, saying he wasn’t doing so to work on a cease-fire but for something “much bigger than that.” Asked to clarify, Trump said he wanted “an end, a real end, not a cease-fire.”

The White House said the U.S. isn’t joining Israel’s attacks on Iran, amid speculation fueled by recent military buildup in the region. A third U.S. Navy destroyer entered the eastern Mediterranean Sea to help defend Israel from Iranian ballistic missiles, and a second U.S. carrier strike group is heading toward the Arabian Sea. Tanker aircraft that could potentially help refuel Israeli jet fighters also appeared to be heading to the region, according to flight trackers and people familiar with the matter.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said he had directed “the deployment of additional capabilities” to the Middle East to enhance U.S. forces’ “defensive posture” in the region.

While the Pentagon says the military buildup is purely defensive, it puts the U.S. on a firmer footing to join Israeli attacks on Iran should Trump decide to do that. Alternatively, it could be a tactic to pressure Iran to capitulate or make concessions.

What else to know:

The U.N. atomic agency said an Israeli strike directly hit the underground halls at Iran's largest enrichment facility, Natanz.

Oil prices rose again as Vice President JD Vance said President Trump "may decide he needs to take further action to end Iranian enrichment."

The Israeli military said it killed one of Iran’s most senior military commanders in an airstrike in Tehran.

Tehran residents reported long lines at gas stations and traffic jams as people rushed to flee the city, anticipating more attacks.

after 60 days, he has to go to Congress for a formal declaration of war or withdraw those forces, which is bullshit, no president should have the authority to commit US forces without Congressional approval, whether it's for 1 day or 60 days.

Israel went without him, and over his public statement that they shouldn’t attack. He was already bored at the G-7 (and didn’t want another picture of Grandpa going to sleep) so he pretended he had to rush back home to take charge.
Don’t forget one of his first acts in his first term was to tear up the Iran nuke deal, since it had been negotiated by Obama. His demand now is for Iran to accept a deal just like that so he can do a victory lap and everyone can say, “Sir! Only you could have done this.”
