Mike Pence Slams Trump for Using Force in L.A. After Pardoning Jan. 6 Rioters

Former Vice President Mike Pence has criticized former boss President Donald Trump for using force against anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protesters after pardoning Jan. 6 rioters.

“We simply cannot allow or stand by while people in the midst of protests assault law enforcement officers,” Pence told CNN’s Dana Bash on Sunday. “[That is] one of the reasons I thought the President was wrong to pardon people who assaulted police officers on January 6th.”

Pence added: “This is a moment when we need to make it very clear that anyone who would ever use violence, whether it be against law enforcement or political violence of any kind, must be condemned universally, and people need to be held to the strictest account of the law.”

Over the objections of Governor Gavin Newsom, Trump deployed 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to Los Angeles this week to quell protests over ICE raids in a city where up to 10 percent of the population is undocumented.

Appreciate his moving away from the dark side, but I can’t help but wonder if does so only because he was a target of the violence.

He could have ended this. Speak at the impeachment hearings or trial. Tell the truth.

That's all it would have taken to shame the other rethuglican senators into preventing mango Mussolini from running for president again.

Get up and tell the truth about how adjudicated sexual assaulter tried to have you killed and your wife and daughter raped.

Tell the truth...one of the mist basic principles of the religion that you claim to follow.

Tell the truth that he tried to overthrow the government and that he is an enemy, both foreign and domestic.

Tell the truth....you didn't and as a non Catholic I appreciate the former pope saying there is greater likelihood that hypocritical people claiming to be Christians are more likely to end up in hell than atheists. You are the living embodiment of the woes to the Pharisees who look all white on the outside but on the inside are decaying mounds of hypocritical flesh

Go away and know that every bad thing in America directly caused by Miller, apartheid Clyde, and mango Mussolini was really caused by your cowardice and lust for power

Without supporting proof of such a large percentage in an urban area of over 9.67 million.

Could it be dis/misinformation?

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

where in a state (California) that is already considered "majority-minority" (with Latinos making up 40% of the state's population), Los Angeles County (which includes the city) is ALSO majority-minority, with Latinos making up 48% of the county's population and are mostly Mexican descent (with other Latin American countries coming in with some smaller %).

The city itself has a population of about 3.9 million.

I expect there are a number of undocumented there who go back and forth across the border for temp work.

Or 5% or 1%?

Still irresponsible and leans into Trump and Miller’s assertions that they are behind every tree and under every bed.

many of the immigrant rights groups have been repeating the same numbers over the past couple decades now.

This is regardless of the racist nonsense from 45 and his Nazi-hugging bigots. Anyone who "looks Hispanic", "speaks Spanish" and/or has a Spanish surname is "illegal" in their twisted white-supremacist minds.

But the problem in that community itself, that they are confronting for the first time (at least in recent memory), is that although their designation of "Hispanic" is "ethnic and/or as a language group", they never understood the convoluted structure of "racial classification" in the U.S. I.e., where a designation of "white" can be "given or taken away" (no matter what you designate yourself as). The Cubans are learning that as a hard lesson at the moment.

It's sortof an artifact of the ethnic hierarchies established in Europe where during certain eras, "southern (and often "olive-skinned" ) Europeans" were considered "inferior".
