The con and MAGA define patriotism in a much different way than the rest of us do

For the con and MAGA, patriotism is allegiance and devotion to them.

For the rest of us patriotism is being an engaged citizen. Living up to and improving the principals and values that define our country. Taking care of our citizens.

And they want it to fail. They're so filled with grievances about life in America. They despise it, work to undermine it, vote for candidates who will mess it up more, which validates their grievances, and then claim to be strong patriots because they are internally conflicted about their hatred of America and it's institutions. They are less interested in candidates who will change things for the better than in those who will break things and make life worse.
