... they are going to fortify the Strait 10x. Trump let them realize their power. What a fool.

They say they won’t do it. If they do, it will be dealt with. The only reason it happened this time is that they were attacked.

For someone to NOT recognize this a a primary Iranian hole card ..... Shows a stupefying lack of experience and knowledge of the playing field.
(as I have understood statements given by prior 'intelligence' and military strategists)

And, no - the basic geography of the region has not changed ...

Even I remember when Obama was dealing with Iran how the Strait came up and how it was Iran's major threat that we couldn't begin to try to deal with. Heck, I remember Republicans using this fact to criticize Obama's deal. And Iran threatened Trump with closing it in 20108 after Trump killed the nuclear deal. They threatened Obama with it. They actually mined it during the Iraq-Iran War.

It was always seen as their last resort option that they'd only resort to if under direct attack.

It's the first thing to know about Iran when dealing with them, that the Strait is their most powerful weapon. It would be Chapter 1 if writing a book about dealing with Iran globally. They have threatened to close it over and over. And now that they have they have all the proof they need of how massive a bargaining chip it is, it's going to be their go to from now on and I don't think we can stop them from charging tolls.
