Well, the bad news!

There 1.2 million or voters registered in the state of Nebraska and 26% actually voted!

There’s good news though, a higher percentage of Democrats voted. I am not sure of the breakdown of votes and know that it was primary election. It was a good showing for Democrats in a very red state with one blue spot in the 2nd congressional district.

Hopefully this will carryover in the middle term.

One other note, the Democrats shined in the local areas of government and in rural areas the was a big up tic for the Democrats.

The GOBer turnout was lower than it had been in years.

I heard that a radio station out Nebraska earlier this morning.

Let’s keep it up Democrats, anything is possible!

Only 57,603 voted. WTF?
The stats that i read yesterday show there are more registered R's than D's,
R: 83,155, and D: 68,325. But there are 51, 015 non-partisan. There is about 2,000 voters for the Weed party. There are a little over 3,000 Libertarians who probably vote R most of the time. I'm quite shocked at all of this. We've been standing on the corner protesting for 2 years and this is what we see? It would maybe be a better use of my time to help people register to vote. I'm feeling more hopeless about this country today than I was yesterday.

All Democrats need to get out and vote if they want to get the hell out of this mess. They need to vote in every state and federal election for the next 30 years.

Until this happens we will keep getting moderate changes because the status quo will stick around with these levels of turnout.
If we don't get super majorities in both the senate and the house and keep them no one is going to see the changes that need to be made.

I can't stress enough how mad I get at voters who don't bother. It only takes a few hours to research local ballot candidates and measures. I think that isn't asking a lot in order to help shape our democracy.

declared to be, maybe the people would finally begin getting the message. Make Election Voting Day a day off from work so no one has to worry about getting there before the polls closed, or losing an hour or more of pay in order to vote. And what about Marketing? We have months and months of marketing around every holiday (major or minor) in this country, EXCEPT for Election Day. America has always downplayed voting, even while vehemently stating it's every citizen's patriotic duty to vote. It's downright schizophrenic!
