Do folks understand that disenfranchising Black voters is an assault on ALL Democrats

...of all races?

Is this clear yet?

Trump and republicans' assaults on Black voter rights isn't just racism, it's a means to disenfranchise communities made up of mostly Democratic voters as a way to keep republicans in power.

In 2024, Pew cited 83% Black voter support for the Democratic party.

I think a strong focus on the Black vote by Democrats in the upcoming election is not only the right thing to do, but essential to gaining the majority.

The Supreme Court essentially decided racism no longer exists in this country. It's a thing of the past, they said, no longer a problem in former confederate states where blacks were once denied the vote by law. Republicans argue creating voting districts to give blacks equal representation and a proportionate voice in our democratic voting process isn't necessary now, absurdly claiming the white majority in those southern states is no longer trying to politically dominate and disadvantage the black minority.

However, it's evident Republican gerrymandering is based on party affiliation. The GOP is doing everything in their power to limit the political power of all Democratic voters, of all races, not just blacks. Clearly, Republicans are engaging in partisan gerrymandering to disenfranchise Democrats, and it must be outlawed.

It was apparent, like in 2024, Black folks felt they were largely unsupported in the vote. And those results yielded negative effects on voting rights, civil rights, jobs, health care, education, and infrastructure. I think they don’t trust the rest of the US to fight back.

And I am old enough to remember voter suppression prior to the VRA. What’s the incentive to go out and vote if it’s likely their vote will be suppressed? Safer to sit this one out.

Ohhh, ya....

Whie drumohf runs around w a racist foghorn for years along with
handing out racism "permission slips" .

Then these Southern States are rushing to diminish or completely remove fair black repentation!

Then w sucesses (hope somehow most beaten back, but idk) who will they try to take away voting rights next (might be a paranoid thought), or at the very least do more voter purges.
