California Gubernatorial primary race tightens

Xavier Becerra has taken a slight lead over Steyer in the California Gubernatorial primary polling according to RealClear Polling and is statistically in a tie with Hilton. RCP average has each of the candidates as follows:
Hilton - 20%
Becerra - 19.8%
Steyer - 14%
Bianco - 13%
Proter - 9.8%
Mahan -7.8%
Villaraigosa - 2.3%
Thurmond - 1%

republican Bianco has lost support and it appears that loss is Hilton's gain.

Porter, Mahan, Villaraigosa, and Thurmond are polling below 10% and they should be considering dropping out and endorsing either Becerra or Steyer.

I agree. It's too bad about Porter and I have nothing against her, but it's time to be a team player. Not saying it's fair, but politics ain't beanbag, as they say.

administration. She will be OK. Of course if she hangs out to the bitter end and it costs us the election, many in the Democratic Party will never forgive her.

It’s becoming less likely now that two republicans will be competing in November.

Who the hell is Thurmond anyways? Villaarigosa is a joke. Why is he still there? Mahan is just propped up by SV, so no surprise there.

And a "Hunter Biden" attack, as well.

• Xavier Becerra’s longtime advisor Sean McCluskie pleaded guilty to stealing $225,000 from the former Biden Cabinet secretary’s campaign account.
• Democratic and Republican rivals in the 2026 California governor’s race are seizing on the scandal to question Becerra’s fitness, warning that legal jeopardy could hand victory to Republicans.

Becerra has not been accused of wrongdoing, and prosecutors’ court filings describe him as a victim. He told The Times that he cooperated with investigators, including appearing before the grand jury.

All I can say about this mud-slinging is:
