Exposing the Myth of Southern Charm
Being in Mobile, a lot of it rang familiar. The Lost Cause still lives and breathes here.
The documentary is especially salient in light of the last couple of weeks of news.

(7,689 posts)Ill look it up. I was thinking about when I was a kid in the 1960s South and how racists made life difficult for everyone in their crusade to oppress others. And by others I mean non-MAGA, non-violent, unconvinced, ordinary Americans and immigrants.
I gotta say, in my seventh decade, Nazis are always just one generation15 to 20 yearsaway from taking power. If society lets them. Dont let them, we must always be on guard.
Like weeds, roaches, and infectious diseases they will multiply and take over if left uncontrolled.

(17,717 posts)I'm a passport member but I hadn't heard about this one. I will definitely watch it as I'm a "Yankee" who lived in the South for ten years. I saw right through some of their revisionist histories, especially when it came to Southern women and racism.

Thanks for sharing, nonetheless!
