I'd say he nailed it.

I get a "thought of the day" when I open my phone. Here's today's.

"We can easily forgive the child who is afraid of the dark. The real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light." Socrates

But children do not need to be "forgiven" for being afraid of the dark, as though they were doing something wrong.

a better choice of word, but Socrates was under the influence of hemlock at the time, so I can understand. 😉

The presser just after the guy ran through security at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

They wanted to sell us the Big Beautiful Ballroon and Führerbunker.

That's a serious droop on the left side of his mouth. My late husband had a bad stroke and his mouth didn't droop like that.

I particularly liked this:

... it is very likely that in a few years, yet another writer will paraphrase the modern version of the quotation, distorting the wording and meaning of Lucretius’ original quote even further. At that point, we should take pity on Plato and simply attribute the quote to Abraham Lincoln. Finis.

My favorite quote of all time:

Don’t believe everything you read on the Internet. — Abraham Lincoln
