Text of the barely legible note:

They investigated me for months — FOUND NOTHING!!!

So 16 year old charges resulted.

It is a treat to be able to choose one’s time to say goodbye.

I saw different readings of the end of that second line in different news stories - resubmitted and resurfaced as well as resulted.

1. Perhaps he was depressed. That can happen.

But this is a guy who had successfully gotten out of legal problems over and over. And 2 weeks before his death, his lawyers approached prosecutors with an apparent offer to testify against others.

I certainly understand fearing for my life if I am about to finger some of the most important people in the world. And I can understand coming to the conclusion that it is better to take my own life than to spend the rest of my life looking over my shoulder and suspecting everyone to be the one who is going to kill me. That all is possible.

What does not make sense is making up the story that he is taking his life because he is accused of raping a young girl. He has been accused of things like that many times over.

I think if I were in that situation, having decided to take my life, I would take one of two paths:

1) I would finger everybody I could.
2) I would confess myself, apologize to those I had hurt and remain silent about everyone else.

Regardless, it should be very easy to determine if that was his handwriting.
