Not even sure Fetterman would need a bribe.

(19,238 posts)... that donation slate has some now been wiped clean. Lindsey Graham will soon introduce his bill asking to appropriate $1 billion dollars for this vanity Ballroom Project. Where the $400 million has gone or disappeared to.. djt repeatedly said was collected via private funding raised to pay for the entire project,... is now an unspoken mystery. trDUMP now wants $1 billion dollars to publicly fund with taxpayer dollars to build his - Fourth Reich - American Nazi Bund Hall, Meetings, Rallies, & Events Center.
Achtung.... !

(19,238 posts)A 51-R/50-D senate would squash any impeachment ideas, stop any meaningful or in depth oversight, and help keep ShitsHisPants out of prison.
djt would fork over big bucks to make that his reality for the last two years of his second term.

(2,863 posts)But his inexplicable turn to the right seemed to happen after his stroke, which could explains his baffling change.
But he had a serious stroke a couple years ago and spent some time in hospital, I seem to remember he was out for quite a while, the obvious changes took place after that

(89 posts)It looks like the majority of his votes that side with Rethugs seems to be on nominations.
I do believe that the strokes have changed his thinking. Very common with stroke victims.
So, I do think he needs replaced due to residual effects from the strokes.

(42,163 posts)He won't be re-elected in Pennsylvania, and his term is up in 2028. I'm a PA voter and I supported him in 2022 as well as most people I know. It's not going to happen again. The Repukes don't want him either.

Maybe it will flip PA back to a real Democrat in 2028.

(3,488 posts)It's part of the responsibility of a poster, IMO - they do a bit of extra work and thereby save dozens of readers from having to duplicate that effort.
Saying something was on Bluesky is like saying "I read it on the internet". Not quite up to DU's standards.

(4,597 posts)... that Fetterman actually owns a suit and tie. Or maybe it's one of those zippered-up-the-back numbers that I'll bet portrait photographers use for clients that don't know how to dress like a grown-up. I know that when my younger stepson got his photo taken in Marine dress blues 20-odd years ago, that's what the photographer used. Dress blues ain't cheap, and most new recruits can't afford them.

Selling out would expose the idea to the whole country.

If he did change parties, I agree with those who think he'd become an independent. Finally, a political situation where "the lesser of two evils" actually fits.

(66,467 posts)Where he (Hannity) allegedly got a call from Trump offering such a thing, from the internets (because the OP didn't add any context) :
And Trump has said, if Fetterman does, hed reciprocate. In his typical unsubtle fashion, the president conveyed as much to Sean Hannity in March and asked Hannity to play intermediary.
When Fetterman sat for an interview with the Fox host the next day, Hannity delivered the pitch, recounting Trumps marching orders nearly verbatim.
Your job is to tell him: Hes gonna run as a Republican, hes gonna have our full support, more money than he ever dreamed of, and hes gonna win big, Hannity told Fetterman, recalling Trumps instructions.

(4,073 posts)I don't take anything Trump says at face value. I also don't take anything Hannity claims that Trump told him at face value, either.
Hannity told Fetterman that Trump told him "Your job is to tell him: Hes gonna run as a Republican, hes gonna have our full support, more money than he ever dreamed of, and hes gonna win big."

I guess we're just living in such boring times, there is so little going on, there are so few really important issues to look at, and this administration is just so uncontroversial that there's just nothing to write about or dicsuss, so therefore we have to make shit up so we can get clicks. Do I have that right?

(24,989 posts)If he has an otherwise 80% progressive/Democratic-leaning voting record, he'd wear out his welcome with the Republican MAGA caucus pretty quickly, wouldn't he? Also, why would he want to hitch his wagon to a losing cult party and an increasingly dementia-ridden cult leader? As soon as he goes against Trump, Trump/MAGA will instantly jump all over him.
