He appeared on CNN and was supporting trump's war plans with no criticism of his insane comments or his weakening of the NATO alliance. Such a disappointment to those of us who remember him running as a Dem and blasting dubya for his war cheerleading.
Well, by contrast I would like to present General Barry McCaffrey , who continues to be a military analyst for MSNOW. I am so glad that the network retained him during all the personnel changes lately. He is a four-star general who was awarded three purple hearts during Vietnam.
His analysis differs strikingly from Clark's. He gave credit to the military, but blasted the president's off the rails social media posts and threats of violence to civilian infrastrucure. And he was not afraid to go there. He said that we basically have a president who has shown that he is mentally unstable and we still have three years to go of this. He brought it back to this central question on his own. Truth to power.
Thanks for your service, General. And thanks for your courage in speaking the truth. We need it now more than ever.

(25,043 posts)He was all about the NATO alliance and he doesn't even have mild criticism for trump's ripping it apart. Don't know if his motive is financial or what, but I was shocked.

(25,043 posts)hurt that he is the spitting image of my late father-in-law, who was also a Vietnam vet and a purple heart recipient.

IMHO, being a paid contributor negates any expertise or validity to their opinions or analysis.

(25,043 posts)I see no evidence that his payment from MSNOW is influencing his analysis. He always praises the actual military and when he criticizes trump he does so with gravity and self-reflection. To me, it is apparent that there is real money in war cheerleading itself, much more so than an "analysist" payment from a network. The one percent want war and there is money to be made from it. I don't know for sure if Clark is making money from this war, but it wouldn't surprise me. Also, I don't know if he is a CNN analyst or not. I'm curious so I'll try to find out. Edited to add that according to wiki he is an analyst for MSNBC, which doesn't exist anymore. I don't think that's right, because if he was his contract would not allow him to appear on CNN.
