The Pentagon is well stocked with military geniuses, officers at the top of their game.

They constantly create scenarios and perform wargames to hone their abilities, and America is second to no one in this capacity.
So why is this war going so poorly? Why was there no plan to keep the straits open and account for a self replicating regime? Why are we depleting our national arsenal well before the mysterious objective has been met?

I would bet this war was not plotted out within the rings of the Pentagon, but entirely on the Resolution Desk with a Sharpie, by the man who "knows more than the generals". I'm sure he got some push back from top brass who had to implement his orders, but I can just imagine him asking if they realize he's the Commander In Chief, not them. The ranking officers at that point put up the rope he needed to hang himself. ...as ordered.

I just wish we weren't all in the crossfire.
