Somehow, her reaction gives me hope that a sitting Congresswoman shows human reaction to these files and whats in them. Maybe members like her will be able to finally take some action.
Identifies that the FBI ignored the crimes since 2006.
Rep. Stansbury: I viewed the unredacted Esptein files earlier today

Pro tip: Good try by not writing "Attorney Generals." But there's no apostrophe in Attorneys General.

(9,429 posts)She called the refusal to adequately pursue the case initially as its "original sin."
Wrong. The original sin is that America views wealth and power as a designator of value rather than cause for suspicion. Everything else stems from that primary point.

(40,785 posts)Having faith in the US media may be our primary error.
I don't call it a "sin" because we were raised to believe the media (e.g. Walter Cronkite et al.) The Billionaire Cabal (owners of the GOP) has understood this for many years, and they have usurped ownership of the media for this very reason.
Where did it all go wrong? I'd take a hard look at Ronald Reagan's very first act as President in 1981 when he struck down the Fairness Doctrine. That ushered in the "hate radio" programs a la Rush Limbaugh, and eventually by 1990, Faux Noise and all of its copiers/ competitors. Now it's 2026 and we're dealing with 30 years of lies and "fake news" on the internet, and I don't have to go into that. It's something we all see on a daily basis.
If the Fairness Doctrine hadn't been removed, none of the other shit would have been possible.

(9,429 posts)our unhealthy relationship with avarice and materialism was already obvious when the only media available was print. I have seen it noted back to the early 19th century.

(17,471 posts)It had to take so many different people to cover up for the pedophiles and the GOP is covering up for Trump and has been covering up for him for years now. I'm not surprised the FBI looked the other way at a lot of this. I don't trust anybody in this administration.
I have no words any more to describe my rage at this! He belongs in a jail cell and I will never be able to wrap my mind around how he ended up twice as our "President". So much speculation about the "pee tape" when the stuff that we are learning is so much more horrendous than that, yet he still sits there in OUR White House.
I want him gone - like yesterday. He had his marching orders from Putin long ago and he came into this term probably being told he better get Project 2025 all completed right off the bat because his past is catching up with him.

(443 posts)It is only because normal minds reject both the reality and the will to punish that these criminals will never---NEVER---be pursued by Lady Justice.
Sure, we hanged a few Nazis, but we not only let the majority re-enter society; we INVITED SOME HERE To run our space program! The government of the erstwhile Allied Commander of D-Day decided that our recent Soviet Allies were to be our focus.
This pedophile/trafficking scandal is on an unfathomable scale, involving "important" and powerful people, with innumerable victims from iteral newborns to 17, taking place on planes, trains, and automobiles, private yachts, mansions, estates, and islands.
I doubt if many Americans have caught on that GOVERNMENTS COULD BE BROUGHT DOWN BY THESE REVELATIONS.
I am aware, too, that many want to disbelieve the worst, and so they apply what they consider a pejorative "Conspiracy Theorist" whilst simultaneously KNOWING that DJT, JE, Wexner, et al. WERE AND THE LIVING STILL ARE CONSPIRATORS.
