Woman 'shot dead by father in Texas after argument about Trump

It was investigated in Texas as merely manslaughter -- and then they declined to indict the killer!
And this is the heartbreaking thing he said to his daughter before he killed her:

On the morning of 10 January, when Ms Harrison and Mr Littler were due to return home to the UK, there was a “big” argument between Ms Harrison and her father about Mr Trump, who was to be inaugurated as president, Mr Littler said.

“Kris and Lucy ended up having quite a big argument which led to Lucy running upstairs and being upset.”

He said Ms Harrison had asked her father: “How would you feel if I was the girl in that situation and I’d been sexually assaulted?”

Mr Harrison had replied that he had two other daughters who lived with him so it would not upset him that much, Mr Littler said.

The inquest is being held in the UK. How is it that the father was not arrested and charged in Texas?

And the father's attorney is working to torpedo the whole thing.

Historically, and increasingly going forward, women are property in this country and that is doubly true in red states. A man thought she needed to be dead, he had certain “rights” to her life, and he disencumbered himself of the woman and thus the problem. The end.

That’s the reality of life as a woman in the US.

The prosecutor is either incompetent or … well I don’t know what else to say.

Apparently in Texas it’s okay to kill your kids after they have been born … just not before.

Ms Coates said a grand jury, which had since reviewed the case, "concluded that the evidence didn't meet the threshold for criminal charges".
"This means that, as far as they are concerned, there will be no criminal charges for the person who shot Lucy."
She added her family found it "baffling and beyond comprehension" that there would be "no accountability for what happened to my daughter".
"The international element, coupled with a different legal system, practice and thresholds, makes the outcome even harder and more frustrating to accept."
Along with Ms Harrison's partner, Sam Littler, she said she would "welcome learning more from communities and groups in Texas who are working to prevent gun deaths".
Ms Coates added her daughter, who studied sociology and took part in college debates, would have been a "fierce advocate of this".

From the BBC: "US authorities have said no criminal charges will be made over the death of a British woman who was shot during a holiday. Lucy Harrison, 23, from Warrington, was visiting her father in the town of Prosper in Texas when she was fatally wounded on 10 January. The local district attorney's office confirmed 'the grand jury voted a no-bill, which means there will be no criminal charges related to the death.' "

Here's a Fox News article from February 2025 that was buried a page or two deep. Search engines are probably preferring new articles and the articles now are about the inquest in the UK which wouldn't get much coverage in the US. But I did see a couple of articles on MSN and Yahoo about the UK inquest.

Just that she was mysteriously shot in the house. The ME classified it as a "homicide" which meant it wasn't accidental. And Fox completely left out the most important part: who shot her.

but there is a better description on the BBC app:

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cwyk917xy8no

The inquest also heard how Kris Harrison, who moved to the United States when his daughter was a child, had previously been to rehab for alcohol addiction.

Kris Harrison, who did not attend the inquest, admitted in a statement sent to the court that he had relapsed on the day of the shooting and had drunk about 500ml of white wine.

Littler said on the morning of 10 January his partner had asked her father during the Trump row: "How would you feel if I was the girl in that situation and I'd been sexually assaulted?"
