In New York State you must be a US citizen and you must provide ID in order to register to vote.

Once you are registered to vote, and only if you are registered to vote, your name is included in a voting log at your local polling place. The first time you vote you may be asked to show ID because your signature is not in the voting log.

Unregistered voters cannot show up and vote because they are not in the voting logs. There are no people who show up and attempt to impersonate a registered voter and then vote in that registered person's place. That just doesn't happen.

This whole SAVE act is nonsense. States, not the federal government, run their own elections. There is no State that allows any random person off the street to come in and vote. There is no State making a claim that their election process is not secure or that it erroneously allows unregistered voters to vote. Every single State will tell you that their elections are secure. They really need to stop with this bullshit and get to the table and put some restrictions on the lawless, deadly ICE operation.

And I'm not sure they even bother to verify them or count them unless the election is close
