Kansas man on TikTok threatened to shoot ICE agents

SEDGWICK COUNTY – A federal grand jury in Wichita returned an indictment charging a Kansas man with threatening violence against federal law enforcement..

Joaquin Hernandez, 23, of Wichita was indicted on one count of interstate communications with threat to injure and one count of retaliating against a federal official by threatening, according to the United State's Attorney.

On January 22, 2026, Hernandez is accused of posting a video on TikTok threatening to assault and murder federal law enforcement agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) carrying out their duties in Wichita. On the video he threatened to shoot ICE agents “point blank” in Wichita, according to criminal complaint filed in connection with the case.

“If I see ICE activity in Wichita, Kansas, there’s gonna be hell to pay,” he said in the video, according to the complaint.
On January 23, Law enforcement arrested Hernendez and he was transferred from the Sedgwick County Jail to another federal holding facility, according to online jail records.

People, this is the kind of situation the Gropenfuhrer is looking for to use as an excuse to declare
Martial law, lets not give him or ICE agents any ammunition.

I mean, WTF? If you actually want to commit the crime and get away with it, just STFU and do it. If you're posting a threat to commit a crime even if you don't really plan to do it, that's a crime, too, and it's really, really stupid.

I'm surprised there are any ICE in Wichita being a red State, maybe he was talking "if they show up"

I certainly wouldn't post my plans on social media! I would become a lone sniper, moving from place to place and shooting. However, I'm not skilled enough to do that. I was barely skilled enough to shoot at rats at a local landfill in my college days.

They think their Facebook “lock and load” comments are intimidating. They think their unexamined 2A defenses protect them. They think their on-line targeting and harassment of those who disagree with them is courage. Yet they backpedal on their 2A certainty when one of their own is targeted. They are happy when they thought they were defending gun access, they have no idea how to defend the consequences, so they don’t try, just rush into cognitive dissonance and bias confirmation in a kind of mindless panic. The kind where you cannot see, cannot hear anything else.

They cling to the strongman, hoping he will keeping them safe.

It’s not new behavior as we know, it’s the behavior of the frightened.
And I believe that the Trump administration completely understands this. So yeah, I agree. They want political differences to evolve into violence.
