Minnesota Chief Judge Folds, Gives Up on ICE

Let's start with this little gem:

“ICE has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence,” Schiltz wrote.

Briefly, this Minnesota Chief federal judge ordered the head of ICE to appear in person for violating judicial orders as part of a contempt hearing. The day before Todd Lyons was to appear the judge was notified that they had freed Juan Hugo Tobay Robles, an Ecuadorian citizen, as the judge had ordered.
But goes on to list 96 court orders in 74 cases that ICE continues to violate and says he may hold another contempt hearing if ICE continues to violate court orders.

W.T.F.

So the judge goes through the motions to detail 96 violations of court orders over 74 cases but again issues a pointless statement that he MAY order another contempt hearing if it continues

Again...

W.T.F.

The law has failed us. We have the chief federal judge of Minnesota, a lifetime appointment, by all appearances, afraid to uphold the law, afraid to hold ICE accountable, so what is a person like me supposed to think about that?

He also has the audacity to include this little gem in his ruling yesterday:
“ICE is not a law unto itself,” he said.

This is, very obviously, not true. They have violated 96 court orders in 74 cases and the official position of the chief federal judge of Minnesota is to do absolutely nothing about it but order a sternly worded letter.

Our entire justice system has been shown to be a toothless tiger, they are totally helpless when their orders are ignored, it is totally useless except against us normal people...In which case had any of us done these things they would bury us under the jail.

The United States and Israel can violate international laws with impunity, and no one holds them accountable.

He literally just overwhelms and outlasts everyone just wearing people down until it’s like “ok just do whatever, I don’t want to deal with this anymore”. Everything about the American experiment is predicated on leaders doing the right thing and backing down when checked. Trump proves that if you just don’t give a fuck who’s gonna stop you? America has proven it doesnt want the image of its president in cuffs Ap he will do whatever he wants

IT IS THE ENTIRE REPUBLICAN CABAL, and when Trump goes away, they will just install Steven Miller (2025) who are truly running all of this from the shadows.....They are just using Trump as a pawn, not unlike Ronald Reagan, WBush.
Trump is purely serving not ONE but two masters: Republican 2025 & Putin...........

Trump wouldn't have lasted for a week in 2016 if it hadn't been for the U.S. Republican Senators, the U.S.Republican House members, the US Republican Supreme Court Justices, the 95+% Republican owned/operated media, etc etc etc

Justice matters.

... let's go straight to the HARD WAY!
That evil bastard has gotten away with far too much for far too long. I'm sure we can find an indoor arena big enough to hold impeachment hearings on the Orange Hellbeast, his entire administration, all his enablers and Republican sympathizers, AND the Sinister Six of the Supreme Court. It would make Nuremberg look like a Sunday school picnic!
If only...

On our site we have very smart lawyer type people here that i'm sure are SHOCKED by what TSF and our court system has turned into. Months and months and months ago they would say things like NO WAY can these bastards do that! Yet today we are in RUSSIA land where they can do ANYTHING they choose to do, with no consequences. I have 0 answers to what we should be doing. My only point is our biggest lawyer types here, i'm sure will agree that what our judicial system is 100% corrupt, and NEVER expected to be this bad. Our supreme court is 100% owned by TSF, and are, and continue to sit and STALL their decisions that go against TSF.

...was telling us "That we need to look forward not backward"... when it came to an illegal war and torture in Iraq and accountability on wall street for 2008. This sent a clear msg that if you make the crime big enough you can get away with it.

As for the judicial branch, its failure happened in the summer of 2024... with an immunity ruling that never should have been given.

I do not think he and others accepted that the GOP is out to destroy everything. And their allegiance is only to the plutocrats. I do not think any Democratic politician even sees it as they themselves want that payday also..

18. That judge halted the contempt
Fri Jan 30, 2026, 02:42 PM

when DHS RELEASED the subject of that particular case. It says it in the article that was linked -

Schiltz canceled the hearing after ICE fulfilled the court’s requirement to release Juan Hugo Tobay Robles, an Ecuadorian citizen who was previously found unjustly detained earlier this month. Schiltz suggested he may call for contempt hearings in the future if violations continue.

(I don't think he was the judge for all the cases he cited but he cited them to make a point to justify going to the "next step" if a release was not complied with, which it eventually was).
