Stewart called the administrations attempt to claim Pretti was a threat despite all the footage showing otherwise to be the denial of the reality that we all witnessed.
Theyre lying, Stewart said. We saw it. And thats how brazen they lie when they know weve seen the truth. Thats how they lie when they know we know. Imagine how they lie when theres no evidence to contradict them.
Pretti did have a weapon in his hand after all ― one the government might fear more than any gun.
A handheld aluminum, 1080p, 60 FPS weapon of mass illumination, Stewart said, describing Prettis cellphone. Because there is nothing more dangerous to a regime predicated on lies than witnesses who capture the truth.

(24,843 posts)Perhaps you could reconsider your view since that problem is past and the present is much more dangerous. I dont disagree with your premise but the new threats need to be focused on. Clearly, the MSM wont do that.

(24,843 posts)How do you feel about Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, John Bolton, Mike Pence, Mark Esper, Stephanie Grisham, Anthony Scaramucci, William Webster et al.? Theyre all Republicans who opposed Trumps reelection.
None are my heroes but they oppose Trump. In a time of trouble, any enemy of my enemy is an ally. Your mileage may vary. At this time of ultimate peril, should we reject any aides-de-camp?
I, too, am a New York City resident.

(7,460 posts)Heres where the logic goes from empirical to metaphysical.
Fill in the blanks for most basic decent thing and maybe a discussion can be held. Until then, the acerbic comment is noted for its lack of specificitywhich leads to unsubstantiated opinions and circular reasoningwhich is a MAGA media technique. Dont do it here, please.

(3,523 posts)... who condemn people that mistakenly, I agree believed Biden's cheese was slippin' off his cracker, fail to take into account was the despicable refusal of people who knew the truth, but chose not to accurately report the truth.
Prior to the debate with the Orange Shitstain, Biden was on a whirlwind world tour. He fell ill and had a fever. So how would you fare if you had terminal jet lag and a fever, plus serious fatigue from lack of sleep, and insufficient prep time for a critical TV appearance, NONE of which was reported in toto so that people could logically connect those dots? The ever-present "consultants" whose batting averages are nothing to write home about told him, and/or his "team" not to postpone the debate. WHY is a question that will be chopped into chum for years to come, but I, for one, have no confidence in the consultants that "advised" Biden, or, for that matter, any of them presently whispering in the ears of our current party leaders.
Read the room, guys, and give the boot to those who tell you they not YOU know best how to cope with complex situations when they have no skin in the game.

(105,723 posts)and that Biden would have beaten Trump, if there hadn't been a one-night-a-week basic cable comedy show that sometimes said Joe Biden was old?
And there was me thinking that social media was the modern influence. Turns out that there was a sleeping giant of cultural influence that had never been seen as the most important before, and everyone said was fading, and it Ruled America, with the Democratic Party paying attention to it, rather than ... something else (what, by the way, would have persuaded people that Biden was going to beat Trump?)

(183 posts)there's always someone that says "so you're saying there's no difference betweem Republicans and Democrats".
I swear some people get way to invested in rooting for the personalities in the Democratic party instead of the party itself and are completely blind to their faults. Biden's should've dropped out of the race way earlier than he did and his selfishness might've tilted the race to Grump.
