Does Anyone Here Use Mint Mobile?....

I have AT&T and they are too expensive with lousy customer service.

Are you happy with Mint Mobile? Should I consider it to replace my AT&T?
Any major issues or problems?

Should I consider changing to MM?

1. Yup

To be fair, I am less dependent on my phone than a lot of folks I know, but I have absolutely no complaints about Mint -- especially their rates!

I’ve been with Mint Mobile for almost a year, they are part of the T-Mobile Network.

The only downside is that it’s difficult to reach a real person.
I would recommend to start with the 3 month plan to see if you like it. That’s what I did.

3. Basically low rent t-mobile.

Daughter uses mint mobile and loves it.

We've been AT&T for ages but are moving to where t-mobile reception is better, so we're switching to t-mobile.

We might try mint once we're comfortable with it.

4. We went with Visible almost 2 years ago.

It is on the Verizon network and once we got it working properly, we have been very happy.

The downside was it was all AI to sign up. When it didn't work, I told the AI that I was going to cancel.
At that point it connected me to a human, and the problem was solved in about 15 minutes.
This same issue came up on my account and my SO's account. Cured exactly the same way.

Moral of the story, threaten to quit, and get connected to someone who can help.

At that time AI still had a long way to go.

5. My family all have tracfones and they are great!

You can get a fairly new phone with data, texts and 1500 minutes from QVC or HSN for less than 100 dollars. It only cost me a couple of hundred a year even when I talked a lot. My son and I use our home internet instead of mobile data and use our phones constantly. The service has been reliable, and the support is pretty good.

6. Had a really REALLY difficult time porting my landline to them.

After many calls to both parties, I eventually gave up and used another service. Landline->mobile is not an unsolved problem, except between Mint Mobile and CenturyLink.

7. We've been on Boost Mobile currently.

We've been on MNVOs (the type of carrier Mint Mobile is) most of the time since Verizon refused to negotiate with us. (We repeatedly informed them we were going to switch unless they allowed us to use an internet capable cell phone on a voice & text only line - they insisted there was nothing they could do. After we dropped the service, they repeatedly begged us to come back and informed us we were asking the wrong part of their corporation for a price match . . . by then we had virtually identical service for around a third of the price.)

Since Boost Infinite (MNVO) merged with Boost Mobile it is now a full carrier - so I guess we're no longer on an MNVO.

But the price is good ($25 unlimited talk, text, data), and my experience with customer service has been excellent.

Mint was one possibility when our last MNVO carrier was bought out twice, and we were getting fed up with the interruption during transfers. Ultimately, Boost Mobile was cheaper (after the 3-month discounted plan).

I highly recommend consumer cellular. The service is excellent. I can easily reach a US based human. I use ATT through consumer cellular. My husband and I have phones with a lot of data and I use mine a lot. We pay around 80 a month.

10. Highly recommended.

Nearly everyday I was streaming several hours of music using the phone as a hotspot because putting an Internet connection in a distant detached garage was too costly. There was no problem and only after adding a computer to the hotspot did nearing the edges of data usage occasionally appear. I decided to try their home internet package and now I do whatever I want and watch whatever I want without a worry. (eta added a TV in the garage)

13. I'm happy with Consumer cellular. They run on the AT&T Network.

I pay $25/mo for unlimited USA texting, calling and 5GB of data. You can buy more GB if your run out of bandwidth during the month.

14. I have AT&T. I have unlimited calls, unlimited data, and texting on 2 phones. Why? Because it is exactly the same

service anywhere in Central America at no additional cost. Many here have a US phone and pay to have a separate Costa Rican phone.

15. I've had ATT for a long time

I switched to prepay and save a lot of money. I currently did an annual plan. I paid $300 for an entire year that includes 16g data a month and a hotspot.
My daughter had Mint Mobile and it ended being close to $50 a month after the introductory deal.
