1. I am not forced to apologize for being white, but I DO apologize for the fact that

at least one of my white ancestors (of the southern variety) owned slaves.

(My father who did much research into genealogy un-convered that fact.... although the ancestors in question were never large slaveholders, but just the single digit variety.)


On the brighter side, my father also established that two ancestors served with General Sherman's army,
and thus very likely "marched through Georgia"!


Nobody can choose their ancestors, but I'm pretty proud to have those two!!!!

Unless you’re an asshole who makes a big deal about how much better you are because you’re White and use your Privilege to oppress or otherwise demean and marginalize your Brother and sister Americans.
I was disgusted when it was suggested that teaching the actual True History of America would make our children feel badly. No one who isn’t a racist should feel badly if THEY NEVER treated anyone badly.
