So, if SNAP benefits are necessary because the minimum wage hasn't kept up with inflation...

does that mean that the US government is giving employers yet another welfare benefit by covering the costs that they should be paying?

There are different legal, financial, economic rules, laws in various eras for dividing the pie. Being compensated to keep quiet is one such. The peasantry in other countries/centuries might like to weigh in.

We, taxpayers, give welfare benefits to the Walton family because the low pay at Walmart qualifies their workers for SNAP, WIC, CHIP, etc…

That’s how it works.

Spent in Walmart stores. It use to be a higher percentage before COVID but they lost the bottom of the market and it is going to Target, Aldi and Dollar stores. Those stores offer cheaper produce.

So clearly SNAP recipients are looking for the best bargain prices.
