Democrats Should make The Epstein Files The Main Reason For The Shutdown

Yes, they need to talk about renewing the Obamacare subsidies, but as Lawrence O'Donnell just said, Krasnov is keeping the government shutdown to prevent the swearing in of Adelita Grijalva, the 218th signature on the discharge petition.

Here is another Dem talking point; Krasnov will let people starve to death to prevent the Epstein files from being released.

Why haven't Democrats been using that argument more forcefully? Krasnov is in control of Congress and he will keep the government shutdown to cover his own ass.

3. Grijalvas vote can't force the files to be released

She will sign the discharge petition, which will force the house to vote on a resolution to demand the files be released.

Then the resolution goes to the senate, and in the unlikely event it passes, to the president for signature, which will never happen.

Johnson just doesn’t want his members to have to go on the record, and risk either the wrath of the voters, or the wrath of Trump.

It’s a lose-lose situation, but it won’t result in the files being released.

I just don't think they viscerally hit people the way that child rape does. I'm nit saying that's good or bad, altho I think knowing people are starving simply for the vanity and ego of one man should be seen as ultimate evil. But magas are a strange breed of sadist.

I recall reading a number of posts here several weeks ago that others legally able to swear people in (e.g. judges) could do so in this case but... it isn't happening. I have to assume those posts were not accurate?

Worry that the Epstein Files will turn into another disappointment and serve to put the issue on the shelf with a big bow; unintended and/or unexpected consequences.
