The Trump Administration is Testing its Admirals and Generals

to see who is willing to kill innocent civilians when the time comes.

Admiral Holsey a man of conscience chose to retire rather than follow an illegal order. This way the administration can weed out the good and keep the sociopaths.

... absolute, unquestioning loyalty to himself, but gives loyalty to no one but himself. Malignant narcissist is too bland a term to describe what an absolute piece of shit he is. And the fact that there are still those who support him says nothing good about their judgement or their character.

... of dementia to the rancid stew that is his mind, and we're looking at a potential cataclysm of horrifying proportions. He's even used the "N" word (nuclear) in some of his unhinged and barely intelligible rants. Shit's gonna get real if he isn't brought under control. Sadly, the Roberts Court is just a useless rubber stamp for even his most blatantly illegal schemes.

In the Civil War, most of the regiments were formed in the states, a forerunner of sorts to our National Guard system, and most of the Colonels of those units were appointed by the Governors. As you can imagine, the quality of leadership was sketchy, to be sure.

To compound the problem, especially in the Army of the Potomac, political influences were rampant. Officers were in constant contact with Congressmembers and Cabinet members. Much of R E Lee's success can be attributed to the incompetence of the Union officers of that army. Lincoln worked for nearly 3 years to find a General capable of winning the war. In the end he had to pull Grant from the Western theater to actually find success of a kind. Grant had little or no relationship with any of the Washington politicians.

Another more recent example, of course, is in the USSR of the 1930's. Stalin purged almost all of the flag/line officers in the Soviet army, either cashiered or outright shot and replaced them with loyalists. He also placed KGB "advisors" in all units above regimental level. The Soviet army was nearly overrun completely by the NAZIs in their invasion in 1941. In that campaign, some meddling by Hitler helped save the Soviets from complete disaster.

Politics and ass kissing the boss is a poor prescription for winning wars.

Bruce Catton's Mr Lincoln's Army is a great read about the struggles of that Union army in the Civil War.

For the WWII Eastern Front, if you can find it, Hitler Moves East by Paul Carell is a great read on the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941.

The two works I remember best on those two campaigns.

It is apolitical, highly trained, and separate from politics.
They are loyal to the American people, the rule of law, and US constitution.

This strategy has given the US the strongest most successful military
in the world.

Cadet Bonespurs and his DUI hire won’t have any competent or honorable leaders left on their side. And those competent and honorable leaders will still command the respect of their former troops. The result won’t be pretty, but it won’t be the result that the Nazis are hoping for.

Their oath: “I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic…” They can’t defend the Constitution if they give up the tools and power that they have to do so. Admiral Holsey surrendered to a domestic enemy.

I believe if he would’ve gone down fighting, it made a lot of noise and news. It would’ve had more of an impact. The service members below him may have rallied behind him. Not to mention other high ranking members of the Armed Forces.

Call it "Freedom Defenders" or something like that. Get as many high-profile influential people involved as possible.

Position the org at the forefront of the pro-Democracy, pro-Constiution, pro-justice movement. Build an organization that has the human resources to work to rebuild our country in a variety of ways including civil rights, economic, justice etc. It should be activist & make itself visible to the public, not just working quietly & obscurely.

There are many orgs that work on various aspects of the things I'm referring to but I'm thinking of an org could be at the forefront & provide visible & active leadership, as well as coordination of activities with other orgs.

Does such an organization exist?

. . . is small but is not led by morons.

When we invade, expect the following to happen.

1. Venezuela will move their Air Force and as much of their Navy as possible to a friendly country -- Colombia, Brazil, . . .

2. Their soldiers and Marines will ditch their uniforms and take to the jungle that comprises about 65% of the country.

3. A small stay-behind force will defend the capitol until they are overwhelmed by US forces.

4. And then will begin an endless war in the shadows as US forces try to destroy the Venezuelan army and Marines that operate with a friendly population, supplied through a shadowy network from China and North Korea through other South American countries . . . similar to Vietnam and Afghanistan.

5. Then the body bags will start coming home to Dover Air Force Base and the military funerals hit small-town America . . .

We have been down this road before.
