Someone needs to stop the Alligator Swamp detention center before people start dying.

They're putting up what looks like mobile homes on a concrete strip. No shade around there. Probably no air condition. If they cram the detainees into these make-shift buildings, the way the photos show they're doing in the prisons in El Salvador, there will be casualties.

This is Florida. It's brutally hot. Those people are going to suffocate. It will turn into the Republican's version of a gas chamber.
If they prisoners come out to try to get air, they will probably be shot.

And I guarantee that Trump idiots think that migrants workers can handle the heat better than white Americans can. No, they can't. They suffer. After they work these tiring jobs, they go home and deal with it in silence.

By Monday, the Department of Homeland Security said it had signed off on a plan to house up to 5,000 people in Florida who are either arrested by state law enforcement or brought to detention centers by federal immigration authorities. DHS said in a statement that it planned to tap into a Federal Emergency Management Agency shelter program to reimburse the state the estimated $450 million a year it will cost to run the remote detention centers.

Same article.

This hellhole is East of Miami on an abandoned airstrip in the Florida Everglades. What happens when a hurricane comes through there? Ya just gonna let ‘em die? Five thousand human beings?

These are not being built just for immigrants, none of this is being done with only immigrants in mind. These tactics, and these hellhole prisons are being developed to use against Trump's political enemies.

While it's good to stop these to protect immigrants, you're really protecting yourself and your loved ones.

They are certainly deporting American Citizens right now too. There are regular Americans sitting in brutal prisons in other parts of the world right now and they have no way to get home, no way to challenge their detention, they have been charged with no crimes, they have been convicted of nothing. They face torture, rape, and death in prisons in places like Libya, Rwanda, and El Salvador and in most cases, their families don't even know where they are, or even that ICE took them. Someone's father or someone's mother just didn't come home from work one day.

That's where we are, right now! People are being disappeared. Our government is paying foreign countries to hold them in a foreign prison indefinitely. This is going to be the defining issue of this period in American history. We have allowed a government to have this power because a candidate scared enough people about immigrants. This power is being abused and it's being turned on regular people.

We are already at a point where Americans returning to their country from vacation are being detained and interrogated for posts they made about a politician. How far are we from ICE raiding the data center that houses DU's servers to start doing raids on the homes of frequent posters here?

How worse it gets before we have siberian camps - I don't know?

That was mostly under Trump during his first term. They have certainly escalated this many times over now.

People are still saying immigrants too much, ICE is doing this to Americans, period. ICE can do this to you, period.
