Note regarding I. Ce vehicles (intentional typo)

On car windshields near the bottom on the driver's side, there should be the VIN for the particular vehicle.

As long as someone can get close enough, that's a great idea.

Just check CarFax. There are probably even more in-depth resources for insurance companies or dealers.
