I don't know how many of you have seen this headline:
The article has been picked up, as is, by dozens of news serves but I have the very strong opinion it was written by AI and I'm not convinced it's real.
It's says there was this operation, specifically in NE Florida though it does not give specific cities or even counties.
It also mentions the recovery of 25+ children that are missing from the area... apparently all in the NE Florida area. It must be the missing kid capital of the country:
So it's either a poorly written sentence or it's saying that, in the last year, there has been over 24 missing children in thr NE Florida area.
No specifics as to what happened or why or even if there was a single arrest but does says that most are already returned to their families or in state care and what the hell does this mean?:
That was very cryptic and odd thing to say and I have NEVER heard that said about missing children.
Lastly there is the very last sentence. No where in the article does it mention any being detained or arrested but it does say this:
What?!? Uhh...then what was the context of the missing children's situation if not criminal? If they were abused why were they given back to their parents? What is going on here. I honestly think either this story was butchered badly or this is some weird AI story.

(22,780 posts)Did they find them all together or one at a time? Detectives asking questions but did they have professionals to observe or ask how the children about their emotions..were they abused at home and ran away, were they abducted and abused..were they all from NE Florida or were they transported to a location where they were found? Yes, lots of things seem off with this story

(10,731 posts)Plus that it makes the point they are going to "treat" these children so they don't become abusers is weird. Off-putting even. What the hell does that even mean?
I did find another article that is a little better but still odd because it's still saying they located 24+ kids in three days. 24 missing or runaway kids over a year and in just within a couple counties, seems like a lot to me.
Here is the other article I found:

(10,731 posts)That is the exact same article content I linked in my OP. It gives information without saying a lot.
After digging through dozen or so articles I've am assuming at this point that it's runaway kids but a kid ran away for a reason and only 1% of child abductions are by strangers. 90% are by their parents.
A great portion of this is that the article you referenced and that I referenced, was very obviously written by AI and it's absolutely horrible.

(22,780 posts)Or in different locations? Were they taken to the hospital to see if theyre injured..hygiene products could be toothbrushes so were these kids examined?
Last time i read about something like this it was mostly the parents.

(18,398 posts)Runaways are not a priority for police departments. Kids who arent retuned by non-custodial parents arent either. Seems they put together a group of motivated people and gave them the resources they needed to locate the children.

(10,731 posts)Plus specifically mentioning this Tebow foundation and it's involvement, is weird. Even worse this re-education training of these kids, especially in connection with Tebow, gives me weird religious indoctrination vibes. Plus, I'm just not sure what a failed NFL player's motivations are in this particular space.

(18,398 posts)It says the kids are either with family or in state custody. Lots of runways leave because of abuse or neglect and putting them back in the home isnt safe.

(4,207 posts)The above link reports that, in Eastern Ohio, about thirty children were returned to their homes following a joint effort between state and federal law enforcement authorities.
At first, I was skeptical about the truth of these stories. Now, I am not sure what to believe.

(10,731 posts)A couple out there give different details but all come across as weird and don't make a lot sense as they are very thin on details.
