DeSantis signs bill banning weather modification in Florida

Manipulating weather in the state could carry up to five years in prison and a $100,000 fine.

Gov. Ron DeSantis signed several bills into law Friday, including one that will ban weather modification in the state.

DeSantis signed Senate Bill 56, spearheaded by Sen. Ileana Garcia, R-Miami, which repeals current state law that allowed the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to issue permits to people or groups seeking to change the weather.

Weather modification is just as it sounds: It’s the act of artificially influencing the weather.

And in Florida, despite previous legislation, no institutions have ever sought a permit to change the weather, according to state environment officials.

I think Florida just took the lead in which state passes the stupidest legislation.

There are a number of people around here who believe that people (probably libruls) have the ability to alter the weather to target us and other red states with hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, etc. I have no idea how large the numbers are who believe this, but I run into them occasionally which means there are way too many. This is a nothing bill to pacify them, in my view.

When every dumbfuck conspiracy is treated as an actual issue that need to have legislation to prevent something that doesn't happen....

I have this little tiny bit of lint that I keep in the bottom corner of every pair of pants I own. The purpose is to keep elephants from trampling through my house. Been working so far, so I'm not inclined to remove the lint from my pocket. In fact, I think everyone should do the same. I think i will reach out to my dumbfuck congess critter to enact legislation across the country...
