Actually, there are many YouTube videos saying similar things. Who is posting them? Who knows?
There is a lot going on today. It all bears close watching. So, any number of people are getting in front of their cameras and making YouTube videos to build up their subscriber list and get lots of clicks and interactions. It's how they are trying to make a living, see, and everyone deserves a chance to make a living. Riling people up, scaring people, putting people in a panic? All tried and true marketing strategies on YouTube.
Meanwhile, there are legitimate sources discussing what's going on. Some of those sources actually know real information they can share. But, if you can't wait...
WATCH FOR THE ALL CAPS HEADLINES AND CLICK ON THOSE LINKS. WHO CARES WHO IS TALKING? BE AFRAID! BE VERY AFRAID!

It's the disinformation that bugs me the most. Deliberately spreading misinformation should be a felony.

(32,213 posts)Immigration seems to affect people in western countries
negatively.
This is a direct result of the colonial mindset. It's a real
catch-22 for both the immigrants and the host countries.
IOW, lose-lose for both of them.

(20,171 posts)You know it's IMPORTANT!
I know nothing about monetization that is behind this crap. How much does some poster make per click? If I stupidly click on a video and immediately leave it because of crappy content, does the poster still get denari?
MineralMan
(149,270 posts)It's all about numbers.
How many clicks your video gets is just one of the numbers. From there, it's engagement that counts.
Positive engagements by viewers include things like:
Subscribing to the posters channel.
Getting notifications of new videos from that channel.
Liking the video.
Commenting on the video.
Watching the entire video counts.
Clicking on ads that are imbedded in the video is terrific.
YouTube tracks all of those things and more. Then, it all goes into calculating the value of your channel to YouTube viewers and YouTube's bottom line.
You're not going to make much money from videos unless you get the subscriber count into the six digits. Once you do that, all of those other factors help to determine how much you earn. The more videos you have that generate great numbers, the more money you make.
No matter what you do, though, the amount your channel generates for you is not enormous, unless you have millions of subscribers and an aggregate of the engagement factors that is larger than most other channels on YouTube.
I wouldn't get involved with any of that. It's too much work for too little reward, really.

(149,270 posts)What's funny is how weird some of the most successful YouTube channels are. One of my favorites is this guy in Ohio who is a trash picker. His videos are about his trash picking, scrap metal selling, flea market selling, and that's about it. He has 300+ thousand subscribers and lots of engagement. He makes money from YouTube. The channel is called "Taco Stacks."
Another is a 30-something woman who rides her motorcycle around different parts of the world. She's very engaging and the places she visits are interesting. She has been wildly successful and now even has a best-selling book about her travels that is also making money for her. Her channel is "Itchy Boots."
There are many others, as well. Most are things you've never heard of. But hundreds of thousands of people follow those channels. It's freaking amazing.
Initech

(1,549 posts)Seriously, you won't believe what you're missing if you don't check out this video about the awesome thing that Dollar Tree has now! I mean, for real. It will change your life.
Or what about the reaction the homeless dog had the first time he was called a good boy? With arrow pointing to the dog's head, hung down in shame.
I mean, I don't know how I survived all this time without giant pointing arrows showing me how incompetent and stupid I really am. Thank GOD someone has shown me the error of my ways! Jeezus loves you!

PatSeg
(50,345 posts)The Internet is oversaturated with videos that are redundant, unnecessarily lengthy, and as you say, don't support the headline.
For the most part I'd prefer to read about something than sit and listen to someone talk for 10-15 minutes. There are a few stories where video is an important addition, but most of them are just endless commentary. I am on commentary overload these days.

(23,308 posts)of Nicole, Rachel and Lawrence, but even those have the sensationalist headlines. Some of them are posted by strange foreign looking entities, not MSNBC . These usually end with a cute little Asian girl of about 9 demonstrating coloring book techniques. Sometimes I get a Middle Eastern family cooking dinner or an international soccer something.
Since the content is fine, and it is Lawrence, Rachel or Nicole I watch them anyway.
I also watch Meidas Touch despite their own version of sensationalism because the content itself is worth my time.
Even the crochet people have clickbait headlines. That to me is hilarious

(29,568 posts)They're especially prevalent on the right and they are well funded no matter how stupid they are.
There are grifters on the left but those tend to be sheep dogging people toward Trump. There really isn't a lot of money to be made being on the left compared to the right because at the end of the day right wing politics is good for big business but it is examples like TYT who complained Obama wasn't to the left enough but now they are saying Democrats are too far left and bringing on the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene on their show as an example of someone they think they can work with.
Channels I watch are Novara Media, Owen Jones, Secular Talk, Olurinatti, The Bitchuation Room, Democracy Now, Zeteo, The Majority Report, The Rational National, The Humanist Report, LegalEagle, The Vanguard etc
I realize all of them are in it for money but I already avoid most of the grifters on the left and don't watch Right Wing Youtube Hosts at all.
