What to do about Trump???

At the end of every day, I start watching all my recorded MSNBC talk shows starting with Deadline White House. And they all, one after the other, pretty much report about Trump and troops' crazy shit, over and over and question how will he be stopped. So far, the only attempted roadblocks for the madness have been a few judges and a some court decisions. But the Marines are still in LA (last I heard) and the Homan-Noem dynamic duo are still chasing the Latinos and herding them off to some holding pen somewhere.

I keep thinking everyone knows what Trump is doing and most of us know the only effective roadblock is the
GOP side of the United States Congress...and they ain't going to do shit to stop him.

So what remains? SCOTUS, eventually one way or another. And even in that case, Trump will have to decide if he's going to accept a final court judgement in favor of democracy. If he does, we win. If not...I'm not sure what happens.

While true, it has not worked twice, and was underwhelming in 2020.

and to give us back the House in 2018---

However, I agree that Democrats need to present a PROGRAM,
and not just rely on anti-Trump hate---
although that seems to be considerable and growing.....

People turning out everywhere makes the opposition to the 47 regime visible.

And not just the coverage in local news.

People in smaller communities see their neighbors out there with their own eyes.

While I would love it if the many, many, many organizations sponsoring events coordinated to report a supported national tally, perhaps that is not really needed. I suspect that a couple weeks from now we will see a show of organized, or perhaps even spontaneous, independence day opposition. What better time to declare our intent to redeem the soul of the nation by opposing the actions of the regime?

The steps in the right direction are adding up.

Now, if we can just get more of us lobbying Democratic members in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate to get on board in a joint statement, declaration, or letter to America (whatever they want to call it) -- i.e., a statement that lists, clearly and simply, the facts of our grievances against our current mad king. Surely their are violations that every member with a soul, a sense of decency, and a conscience can agree on???

The power of such a statement from nearly 1/2 the congress cannot be overstated. It would be a powerful message to the world. A message to American's who are in despair at the apparent inability of seemingly decent people elected to serve us to get their f-ing act together and take a stand TOGETHER.

And, it is not too early for people, particularly in Republican strongholds, to be on the lookout for Pro-Impeachment primary challengers. I think we are going to see a growing number of Pro-Impeachment Republicans.

And for Democrats and independents to get commitments to impeach from U.S. House candidates, and remove from U.S. Senate candidates, as a condition of support.

People in the streets is not enough, but when someone takes action -- like turning out for a protest -- they are more likely to take some other action, and another.

As Desmond Tutu says,
"Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world."

I know that officially, "on paper," a POTENTIAL SCOTUS ruling against Trump "MIGHT" change things.

1). There will be no SCOTUS ruling against Trump

2). Even if there were, he'd wipe his ass with it, like everything else.

I think TRUMP KNOWS his BIGGEST monster in the closet right now is the 2026 midterms.

So, he either keeps orchestrating chaos and CANCELS them, or does everything on the Stephen Miller and Elon Musk and Project 2025 wish lists IN THE NEXT SEVENTEEN MONTHS. By that point, America would be in ruins, so I don't know how the hell we'd turn things around. EVERY PROJECTION I've seen is that YES, we could take back the House, but getting enough seats in the Senate to convict AND remove would be damned near impossible. It would take a miracle.

So the House would piss him off and hobble him and he'd try to do what he's doing right now...100% "Executive Orders," 0% Legislation, so if you take Congress AND the SCOTUS out of the equation, I'm all out of answers.

Get rid of the Heritage Foundation. They'd all end up like wind-up dolls bumping into walls and walking off tables.
