At least 34 Palestinians killed by Israeli soldiers near aid site

AT least 34 Palestinians have been shot dead by Israeli soldiers on Monday near food distribution centres in the south of the Gaza Strip.

The toll was the deadliest yet in the near-daily shootings that have taken place as thousands of Palestinians move through Israeli military-controlled areas to reach the food centres run by the US and Israeli-backed private contractor, Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).

Two witnesses said Israeli troops opened fire early on Monday in an attempt to control the crowds.

There was no immediate comment by the Israeli military. In previous instances, it has said that troops fired warning shots at what it calls suspects approaching their positions.

Can't wait to see people blame this on Hamas, as usual.

They have some actual on the ground reporters there and the aid distribution killings have been happening every day since the first day that US-Israel backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation opened their first site.

There were civilian aid agencies that were delivering aid or could deliver aid but were blocked by Israel and people have been warning about militarizing aid. A lot of people don't feel safe picking up food with people with guns around but Palestinians are so hungry they are willing to take the chance to but they are lied to before being sent to these traps.

CAIRO/GAZA, June 16 (Reuters) - Israeli fire killed at least 40 people, half of them near an aid distribution site operated by the U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation on Monday, the territory's health ministry said, as U.N. officials denounced Israeli-backed aid delivery methods.

Medics said at least 20 people were killed and 200 others wounded near an aid distribution site in Rafah, the latest in daily mass shootings that have killed hundreds of Palestinians trying to reach food since Israel imposed a new distribution system after partly lifting a near three-month total blockade.

Israel has put responsibility for distributing much of the aid it allows into Gaza into the hands of a new U.S.-backed group, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which operates three sites in areas guarded by Israeli troops. The United Nations has rejected the plan, saying GHF distribution is inadequate, dangerous and violates humanitarian impartiality principles.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military about Monday's reports of shootings. In previous incidents it has occasionally acknowledged troops opening fire near aid sites, while blaming militants for provoking the violence.

More killings. More war crimes. More war criminals.
