Private company doesn’t have market values determined by stock sales.
Private equity has been looking for exits; this gives them some cash to play with, maybe distribute to owners who want more dry powder.
They can play a lot of games with parceling out or selling off assets but not valuing them fairly, while doing side deals at the same time.
Endless corruption possibilities.
